Unlike previous years, 2012 will see the Learning@schools conference move from a three day event held in February at the Rotorua convention centre to a two day event on the 26th and 27th of January at the Claudelands show grounds in Hamilton.

Learning@schools sees the release of the all new Xorro Q – The future of mobile devices in the classroom
Learing@Schools 2012 has been singled out as a launching pad for the all new Xorro Q student response solution.
With recent ‘technology in the classroom’ discussions being dominated by tablet pcs and mobile phones, 2Touch has taken on the challenge of finding an effective way to integrate the use of these solutions in the classroom. Through these developments the Xorro Q responder has emerged.
Developed in the Auckland offices of 2Touch Technologies, Xorro Q is a web based response system that uses existing web-enabled devices (smart phone, tablet pc, or laptop) as a vehicle for gathering student responses within a lesson setting.
Teachers pose a question through the Workbook software and then display a QR code/URL that the students can follow, login and respond to the question (which is now displayed on their handset).
All answers are then displayed on the shared surface/teachers laptop. This can be shared with the class via a projector or interactive whiteboard –Xorro Q will work with any type of interactive whiteboard. The teacher now has the ability to drag answers onto the Workbook canvas and edit/sort/highlight the answers in a range of ways that suit their lesson.
Students can answer in full text or simple ABC voting.
With Manzana and 2Touch sharing a double stand, Xorro Q will be available for demonstration for both days.
