From ANZAC day to NZ frogs, this month’s websites are a bit of everything.

A collaboration between the university of Otago and Victoria University, NZFROG is a New Zealand website based around the research, education and conservation of New Zealand frogs. Filled with teaching/education resources, NZFROG goes into great, research based, detail to explain the importance and need for research on our unique and very endangered webbed digited friends. It can also be tied into the curriculum for other aspects of the environment as frogs are indicators of environmental health.

Description: Using Google maps as a base, Panoramio is a collection of photos from everyone’s favourite places in the world. Whether it’s as close as Huka falls in Taupo or as far away as Barcelona you can view pictures from around the world. By simply typing in a country or destination your class can look at photos from their favourite places around the world – whilst also adding there own.

Description: Launched on 18 April 2005 to mark the 90th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings, this website includes information on the significance of Anzac Day, how it is commemorated today and a virtual guide of the Gallipoli peninsula featuring stunning interactive panoramas. It also includes searchable records of all New Zealanders who died at Gallipoli.
